Staying on São Miguel
There are so many beautiful options on the island of São Miguel. We'll be hosting our events in Ponta Delgada, but guests are welcome to stay in other areas as long as they're prepared for the commute to events around the big day.
Ponta Delgada
Steps away from the venue and welcome party, Ponta Delgada is the most convenient location to stay if you don't want to rent a car and drive.
Octant Ponta Delgada
The Bride & Groom will be staying at this property, with views of the marina and the Atlantic.
While there are no room blocks available, comment "Sarah Johnson/Matt Parks Wedding Party, IATA 05504844" in the notes field before check-out to receive special benefits (including two complimentary 50-minute massages in their Spa) from the hotel as part of our group.
São Miguel Park Hotel
Another more economical option recommended by local guides is located up the street. Use "WEDDINGSARAHJOHNSON" for
10% off your stay from 9/17-24.
AirBnB
There is a great AirBnB presence on the island, with many properties available depending on what you're looking for!
Outside the "City"
There are many beautiful places to stay along the coast if you're looking to spend your time "off the beaten path". These locations will require you to arrange transportation via your hotel, rental car, or other car service to get to our events!
Caloura Hotel Resort
About 20 minutes' drive from the venue, this relaxing hotel boasts a beautiful pool, private beach, and other amenities for guests looking for more of a retreat.
Santa Barbara Eco Beach
If you're looking to splurge a bit, the Santa Barbara Eco Beach Hotel is about 20 minutes north of the venue and on the opposite side of the island!

There is a great AirBnB presence on the island, with many properties available depending on what you're looking for!
Everywhere Else
While you're on São Miguel, take some time to venture out to the other beautiful areas of the island and Azores.
The Lince, Nordeste
Steps from where many of Matt's family members grew up, the Lince is a beautiful, relaxing escape from the hustle of everyday.
Octant Furnas
One of our favorite places to visit was Furnas—home to hot springs, history, beautiful landscapes, and more. This location boasts a Spa-like experience, close-by to the attractions of Furnas!
Other Islands
While you're here, venture to some nearby islands by ferry or flight—Pico, Terceira, Faial and more!

Getting around on
São Miguel
Island
There are taxis available on the Island, but we recommend guests stay somewhere walking-distance from the events or to rent a car if they prefer to stay farther away.
